Picture Update

Life has been busy the past couple of weeks. Here is an update starting right after my last batch of Dillon pictures/videos.

One evening we were saying goodbye to Mike and Ginni and I asked "Where is Dillon?" After a minute of searching, I found him stuck here trying to get his tractor out. No telling how long he had been stuck there because he wasn't making any crying sounds.

Here is a fun picture of Aunt Michelle with Dillon and Warner.

Dillon loves this toy horse at Grandma's house. He rocks on it as if he is going to win the Kentucky Derby.

"I wonder how much of Papa's yard I could destroy before he got mad at me?"

Something tells me these two were up to no good before I walked around the corner to check on them.

This picture is to say goodbye to our good friends the Cranchs. Carolyn, Warner, and Paul are moving back to Australia. Actually, Paul left Saturday night and Carolyn and Warner will be leaving this Saturday. Christina and Carolyn pushed the boys around the neighborhood many times the past year and kept each other sane while the dads were at work. Paul and I had many good games of tennis, though he always beat me. I taught Paul the rules of American football, while he introduced me to rugby. They will be missed.

This is one of the first pictures of Dillon and Warner together. Little did we know at the time, but this is exactly how their relationship would turn out. The two never played well together, they constantly struggled to get the toy the other one was playing with. Let's hope that they get along when the Nixon's go down under to visit them.

Dillon in the pumpkin patch at Cover's Apple Ranch.

Uncle James, Aunt Michelle, and Dillon on the train at Cover's. Ever since his trip to Railtown 1897 Dillon has loved trains.

Sunday afternoon we went to a Halloween carnival for kids. It was too warm to dress Dillon in his costume so we improvised and made him a member of the Lakers.

Here he is trying to eat bubbles. Dillon was much more interested in the bubbles then any of the candy. He doesn't quite understand what trick-or-treating is all about.

Tomorrow I will post pictures of him in his real Halloween costume.

Sit, Otis, sit! Good dog. (UPDATED)

Now that Christina is a stay-at-home parent, she tasked herself with finally getting Otis to obedience training. After five weeks of intense training, I am proud to report that he passed Level 1 Basic Manners with flying colors. He can now sit, lay down, and come on command. However, he will not go to the store for us.

Otis now has more schooling than most of the Nixon family.

(I have a couple of pictures to post but am having trouble with Blogger. I hope to post them soon, along with a few pics of Dillon in Shafter from this weekend.)

Update:

That's Otis and Christina in the top left. I think if I were the neighbors of this dog school I would get about a dozen outdoor cats to torture the dogs in obedience training.

The official certificate. We're so proud.

More Videos

The following are videos I have found entertaining and/or funny over the past few weeks.

Here is a promotional video for a retirement home and the Wii based tournaments they host. It's a video like this that would sway me to stick my parents in a home. (Just kidding Mom. Sorry Dad but you were going to be sent to the home even before this video.)

***

Space Poop!

***

I saw this video a while back ago but recently showed it to Christina to prove to her that Texas is crazy about high school football. We rented season 1 of Friday Night Lights (and loved it) but she just didn't believe how a town could idolize football. By the way, I couldn't imagine losing a game in this fashion.

***

Here is a humorous take on Halo 3.

***

Phillips' new ad for their shaver that is too hot for tv.

And their PG 13 music video.

***

Finally, proof that Vlade Divac is no longer the Queen of Flops.

Our Little Napoleon Dynamite

Like every toddler, Dillon loves music. Ever since he could walk he has shown us his Happy Feet. I finally recorded some of his dance moves last week and thanks to some editing help from James I am now able to post them online.

After his dance-a-thon, Dillon pulled out his "Old Man Walk." He started walking this way a few weeks ago and every time he did it I told him he was walking like an old man. Now he can do it on demand.

I'M A MAN!!!

If you have been following the Mike Gundy press conference meltdown then you will enjoy the following parody of a Coors Lite commercial. (If you are unfamiliar with the Oklahoma State coach's rant then catch up here.)

If you don't care about football then enjoy this picture of Dillon.

It's getting cold out, put a jacket on

Hey Wii owners, Nintendo has created a non-slip rubber jacket for their Wii Remote. Starting October 15th you will find the jackets in all Wii systems and individual remotes. However, if you bought a system and additional remotes before the 15th Nintendo will ship you up to four jackets for FREE. Go to their official site to have the Big N send you the accessory. This is going to cost Nintendo over $17 million.

Help!

Last week a thought crossed my mind while I was surfing around the iTunes store: I have never listened to an entire Beatles album. The battle between Apple and the Beatles is very well documented. So I turned to the next best thing, Amazon.

My question for you is which album should I buy as my first Beatles cd? If you lived during the British Invasion or have a favorite album please leave me a note in the comments. I am currently leaning towards purchasing their number 1 hits cd, unless otherwise persuaded.
